ABSTRACT
Capitalism is the target of much criticism from the left, especially regarding the distribution of income among people and their populations. Economic liberalism, when taken to extreme attitudes, generally translates, from the worker’s perspective, as many imposed duties and few guaranteed rights. Profit for the sake of profit, depending on the company, brings discomfort to workers and criticism from society for degrading and unhealthy working conditions. However, the same society that criticizes the capitalist model is the same consumerist society that, in an ungoverned way, buys without stopping. In this study, we make a proven critique of capitalism regarding its exaggerations which, in this way, is incapable of achieving the objectives idealized by classical economic liberalism.
