ABSTRACT

The idea of globalization encompasses economic and cultural aspects. There is no denying that in cultural terms, borders are easy to overcome, with cultural exchange being facilitated by immersion in other cultures through the global computer network, the internet. However, the same magic does not occur in economic terms and concerning the border. In economics, in theory, globalization would allow small companies to take part in foreign trade in a simple and facilitated way, but this is not what happens in practice. Large oligopolies impose difficulties in many ways that are difficult for small companies to overcome. A bigger fallacy occurs regarding borders. The Mercosur bloc maintains borders between the bloc’s signatories, which does not occur in the European Union and the Schengen Area. Our study is a critique of paper globalization and globalization in real life, raising relevant information and its motivation that end up creating barriers in a world that calls itself globalized.
